In Bayraktar’s photographic works, the digital and physical are intertwined. The reality of perception is questioned through the fictional images utilizing documentary aesthetics. The series Stasis (2011) draws on this duality and brings together vehicles that have lost their functions such as a plane, zeppelin, ship and bicycle. The series consists of photographs of various plastic models produced by the artist, underlining the vague boundary between the digital and the analogue. He sheds light on contemporary dilemmas like whether the photograph of a model more real than a digitally produced image, or does this question matter at all.
