Like his first exhibition “Echo”, the artist chooses a metaphor exclusive to the concept of sound. Using the medical term “tinnitus”; the ringing of ears heard by the patient, Kerem Ozan Bayraktar refers to an obvious pathology leading to the superstitious anxiety of “people talking behind one’s back”, to the worry of talking about somebody who is not there and to the formation of reality by desires.Unlike classical photographs which depict what actually is, the artist’s photographs, are the product of physical and virtual cameras and of fictional compositions. As the main theme, this intersection focuses upon realization and the collapse of a phantasmagoric “other”. The artist’s depiction of this “other” is the unconquerable and mysteriously described image of woman, produced by the patriarchal perspective. By employing compositions and signifying games, the artwork seeks the ways to undermine this ideal “other’ which is fused with the “so-called” vagueness of nature. The artist tracks down the “other” in fragments and subsequently producing inconsistencies and thus points out its non-existence.
